Well here we go!
First off I want to say I love this bike!
Now I have to say the bad.
I havent posted any ride picks or reports because since my Co trip she was in the shop for for the first month after I got back with an engine noise, when I got her back, I started experiencing alot of the standard complaints, screen shutdowns, engine stalls, ride mode inaccessible, tpis 20psi off,........yeah.
So today she is going in and staying in the shop untill its all fixed.

Ill keep you posted

P.S.
I dont want to come off as a complaining whiner, I knew going into this bike as a beta tester there were going to be issues.
So please dont turn my posy into a Pan Am bashing contest. This is not my first beta test. And I will do it again!
;);)

Sorry to hear this. I guess the good thing is by now MoCo should have found solution for all these problems already and parts are more readily available.
Thats what we are hoping for, the flip side is.....I was told they might not see a '24 on the floor...At this dealership.

were 3 years in, really things should be worked out by now. as i mentioned in another post i was at a dealer and the sales guy was like what problems??i,m thinking ok maybe i dont understand how forums work with real people that have spent real money having real problems. best of luck

I’m in the same situation as you are Rocket. I love my early 21 Pan America, but the bike has lived at the dealer getting fixed. I have always treated the dealership service department and the traveling HD wrench nicely and that’s paying off. I should have an alpine green 24 soon. I hope you get yours fixed and back on the road soon.

I thought I was lucky since I didn’t have the stalling problems others have reported. But now I do.
After two years now all of a sudden the bike stalls when coasting to a stop or if I let it idle for more than 60 seconds. One time on the backroads I was slowing to pass an Amish wagon and it stalled putting me into a skid which went sideways due to bad road conditions. I was nearly run over by the wagon.

If I get stuck at a long red red light it stalls. Waiting at a drive-thru it stalls. Hopping off to take a picture it stalls…
and after each stall it doesn’t just start right up again. It’s 3 - 4 tries and by the 4th try the battery is nearly tapped out. Then when it starts ride mode is ! and ARH is inop and sometimes the gear indicator is inop.

The ARH which was supposedly fixed after paying out the ass for the work is back to not working half the time again.

I’m hearing weird noises in the engine. Like chattering solenoids when idling.

I’m done with it. Since the cold weather came the gremlins have come back with a vengeance. I’ve been riding my thumper more and more because I live in fear of getting stuck with the PAS and having to get it towed or being stranded in the wilderness and becoming bear food.

That and each time I have to take it to the dealership for work the bill keeps getting higher and higher but nothing stays fixed afterwards.

Any particular reason why they are not carrying '24?
I really didnt go into details about it, but it sounded like they are only sending the 24s to targeted dealers
(just an assumption)
Maybe the dealers with higher PAS sales.
Not sure.

I doubt it's true, but I bet there are a bunch of dealers wished that. I could see HD might not be sending 24 model year bikes to dealers that have a bunch of left over 22 and 23 year bikes. The dealers need factory trained PA and Rev-Max technicians that want to work on the bike and engine. Hell, I know my bike produced a lot of labor hours for the service department even if was warranty rate.

UPDATE:
So I talked to the Service Manager and he was in contact with HDMC, the same guy he spoke with last time it was in. They are doing some basic diagnostics on the motor, and if it dosent change anything, Im getting a new motor!
Then he mentioned the display and said Im going to be happy with the results. But left me hanging! (Hes my brother, hes gata F☆☆☆ with me) lol
So i assume a new dislay.
Bike is on the lift, and top priority. The service tech has till today to get information and results to the MoCo.

Well I got to talk to the Master Tech today, and got some good information.
The display is getting replaced with a '24 model, and the stator is as well!
So the stator is the cause of the display issues, the stall outs, and the engine noise. All caused by random voltage drops. The engine noise is from the vvt system and would shut off when the volts dropped.
The stator is being shipped out over night, and I might be riding this weekend!

NOTE: This is what the tech found on my bike, these findings might be different for other bikes.

So did he say wether they would do it to everyone’s bike like a recall?

I diddnt ask about recall stuff, but if one takes that information to their local service department, they can go from there!
The flip side of my personal deal is if the engine noise returns, and its not dripping voltage, he wants to replace the motor.
So I think I got a win-win situation for me.

I am in the market for a new PA and came across a video that stated that if the charging system is upgraded to the '24 version the cooling manifold has to be replaced as well. Have they told you the same?
