I guess I'm going to bite the bullet and buy an extended warranty for my 2022 POS. I don't dare ride it if I have to be somewhere, and the shit show local dealership in Silverdale says I have to take the bike to Olympia to the dealer I bought it from. This is after 5 trips to Silverdale after a phone call saying my bike was in stock, only to find out " Another salesperson sold the bike after I called you, but if you put another $2,000 dollars down to hold one we will make sure you get the next one" 9 trips to the service department in the first year, still randomly stalling. Dealer solution? "Don't ride it in the rain or on cold days" Hate to pay to have them continue their so called service but hopefully I can get the state attorney general involved to use the lemon law here in Washington state.

My issue of random dying of engine developed into more problem today.
I rode the bike today and it automatically keep revving it up to high RPM, more than 4K on the RPM. This happen even I clutched in. When idle the RPM also revving up automatically.

I send my bike to HD workshop and hope it will not be a costly repair as it's out of warranty already.

So I had the problem with the bike dying on the highway a week after I purchased my 2023 PAS and just figured it was the road gremlins. I did also have one situation of the bike revving up to high RPM shortly after as well. I had to shut down the bike and hope it did not repeat when I started it up later. I was lucky and was able to get it home and tried to trouble shoot what trouble code was on the dash, but none were there. I took it to Harley and had them look at it and they were able to track down the issue. I learned from the technician there is 7 modules on the Pan American and only one of them we can update and that is the usb c port on the infotainment system. I guess when I had my bike updated in November with the new January 2023 update the module in the throttle did not update and was on an old update from the initial factory flash dated in June of 2022. This causes communication issues with the other modules in the PAS and was the culprit for the dying and revving. Once all 7 modules were re updated with the New December 12 2023 update I have not had any issue since. This might be an answer to some of your dying and revving issues.

I have responded in other thread. My dealer diagnosed and found that the intake manifold (induction module) leaked. I have to replaced two intake manifold at front and rear cylinder. This resolve the idle high RPM (stuck at 4K) issue. I am still monitoring if this resolved the stalling issue longer term. finger crossed.

I came Really close to getting a PA. ended up with a Tiger 1200 after reading this forum for a few months. Dodged a bullet. I couldn’t be happier
I heard from my dealer that most of Pan Am problems have been identified and resolved. There are many upgraded replacement parts available now.

For 21 Model, it's recommended to buy extended warranty plan and hopefully all the problems can be resolved within warranty period. The newer 23/24 model should have much less issues.

Overall this is a great bike.

Update: After trying for a few weeks. Changing of the manifold induction module solved my bike random dying problem too. This may be a useful information for someone having the same problem like me.

Well it looks like I’m one of the many and no longer one of the few. I took the PA out for a spin yesterday as it warmed up to the low 60’s. Upon initial start up all seemed normal. I pulled out of the garage and headed to the end of the driveway, turned left and bike quits. Just as if I turned it off ( which I didn’t), the screen went black for about 5 seconds and then “rebooted “ on its own, just like it does when you turn on the ignition ( which I didn’t). Upon rebooting I noticed that the ride modes were gone, I hit the starter button and got the familiar squalling sound that I heard in some of the videos ( sounds like you are squeezing a cat) the bike wouldn’t start. Upon the second attempt it started and I checked for codes, it had 4, 2 for the LCM and 2 for the RCM, I didn’t check them I assumed they were communication codes so I just rode off. I stopped up the road a couple miles, shut the bike off, let it sit a minute or so and restarted. It started normally, ride modes were back and codes were gone. I rode 130 miles stopping for gas and all seemed normal the rest of the day. These are the first issues that I have had with the bike since I bought it new. It has never had any codes, issues, or problems until I installed the last software update. Just wondering.

I love the bike and really have not had any serious issues, lucky I guess but I have to post this for others on my issue. Bike is a late 2022 with currently just over 10k.On good days its my daily driver to work.
The issue I have is randomly it would shut down when cold, starting temp in the morning is usually in mid 60's. Im talking fireing it up, running about an minute, thats to put on the helmet, turn on the Cardi, and jump on, taking off, not aggressively driving either. The bike always turns over easy or a PanAm, it has the latest starter gear on it for torque. I would go about 100 yards and poop. The only way to start is was to completely shut it down for 30 seconds then fire it up again. Popping the clutch or hitting the start button would not work. Then there was the multiple codes poping up all the time, but only in the morning starts, afternoon was fine. I figured since we are beta testers for HD that its normal. Im an auto tech so it did not usually bother me. Now all that said.

I found the problem, I think. I was doing my 10k maintenance this winter and low and behold the battery positive cable was loose and white corrosion, not the crusty kind either. Also the solenoid connection of the cable was loose too. When I say loose I mean hardly 3 finger tight with a nut driver.
Now the Stealership installed a new battery when I bought it, cause the batt was dead, on June 19 2022, then they did the 1k maintenance when I got it to that point, bike only had 4 miles on it when bought. Since I have cleaned the terminals and cables finished the 10k service so far so good. Its only been a few weeks and weather here in Michigan is in the 30's so riding is not happening a lot.

Just be aware that if your having Codes pop up on a first thing in the morning, with engine stalling, and then go away after driving plus the rest of the day without issues. Check all your battery connections and solenoid connections it just may be that simple.
Ride on my friends and two wheels up.

Harley has never been interested in service work, sales are king to them. Buy one, they offer tens of thousands of dollars in modifications and add ons to make them perform as well as the euro or asian bikes out the door. That is why there are a bunch of independent harley service shops every where you go. The POS special is another case of harley blatantly copying other manufacturer's tech, adding "harleyfications" to make them proprietary and rushing the junk to market. I make sure to tell everyone I know what total pieces of shit the bikes are. As soon as I can get it paid down enough to dump it, I will kick it down the road.

Agreed. My dealership diagnoses a problem next day and has parts shipped within this week and installed. All have been completely free experiences. I feel like people just want drama in their lives no matter how much they go around saying they hate it. It's attention... so it still counts I guess...

Great bike so far... '22 PAS

I doubt the solution is that the battery cables are loose. If it were that, the problem would be more constant, not so specific. Did you find the solution? Thanks

Ciberpunk,
my cables on the solnoid were loose as to touching enough to get the job done. I could see pitting on the eyelets of the connectors. I cleaned them up and torqued them down. So far its been good, no stalling. Back in late July I installed a Lithium battery at 540 amps and so far all the starting issues are gone.

What battery model do you install?

Noco and their charger. I modified their connector to connect to the battery charging conector that the bike has on the left side of the seat.
I mis-stated on the CCA of the battery its 500 amp not 540.
The battery will fit. You have to lay it down on its side. Since its a Lithium battery you can install it at any angle.

My bike randomly dies while deceleration. Started noticing this issue after may fuel pump replacement and software update. At first I associated it with the bike being cold. However, yesterday it occurred after being up to speed and temperature for 15-20 minutes going down the highway after letting off the throttle. I cannot just push the starter button to get it running again. I have to shut the bike off and back on for it to start. I had 20,000 miles on it when it started acting this way and now have almost 24,000. Just had the voltage regulator replaced yesterday, was riding her home when it occurred again. My bike is a early '22, bought it new last March. anyone else having similar issues? Suggestions?
I guess they replaced a voltage regulator for nothing, change dealership, they will keep replacing the wrong parts.

Hey guys, I can just contribute.
I have a 22 model with updated 24 electronics (on warranty already).
Was going highway speed. Accelerated from 4th gear at 60mph to 90mph bike cut off. Not sure if I reached 6th gear or was somewhere in between.
Tried to start it while rolling... Starter didn't work either.
After turning it off , waiting for 10seconds and turning it on again everything worked fine.
Actually I don't feel safe anymore. My dealer just said they couldn't find anything battery is okay. This situation sucks.
No joke, while my bike was at the service, I got a Sportster s, same revolution max engine. Cut off while shifting from 4 to 5 at 30mph 🤪😜
I think there's also something strange with the engine. And it's very strange that it seem to be related to shifting.
