How do I remove the counter shaft nut? I see two small detents or impressions in the nut. I presume this is designed to stop the nut from backing off while riding. Can I just use an air impact to reverse the nut off or is there something in need to do first like pry up the two impressions. My local dealer said the manual said to “remove and discard the nut” no mention of the two impressions. Maybe im over thinking this?

Output shaft, right? Front sprocket?

I've done it. Wasn't a big deal. In gear, chain on, back brake held. Lefty loosey..

Awesome, thank you for responding. I just ordered an 18 tooth front sprocket. Did you reuse your old output shaft nut? They are on back order till August according to my local dealer
Yeah, I reused it the first time.. Those detents are to make the nut too tight to loosen up. I guess they figure you lose all that after removing it. I cleaned the shaft and put a little blue loctite on. The nut was backordered then too... That was October of 22.. LOL

I also reused the e-clip on the back axle. I'm a rule breaker. 😎

Normally with an powefull air gun, just make sure if the threads are standard or counter-clockwise before you try.
