Cobra Exhaust

Hi -

I purchased a Cobra (UK outfit) aftermarket exhaust for my '24 PAS for a number of reasons. I asked for assembly instructions and got the answer from customer service that "the bike guys tell us it's pretty simple so you should be able to figure it out."

Has anyone fitted these to a '24 (or other year) PA? The specific problem now is that I can't fit the front end of the Cobra-supplied connector tube (See photo) either into or over the back end of the OEM header pipe - the diameter of both seems to be identical - in contrast to other systems where the connector has a flare to go over the back end of the OEM header.

I thought I read something about the US and European pipes are different sizes.
I dont recall the thread.

I'm sure you're right. I've had some back and forth with the company and although they have been responsive to my emails it appears they may not have sold this system into the US. I put the micrometer on both the ID of the stock resonator and the OD of the stock header - both came up a bit north of 63mm. They're discussing the matter internally right now; I suppose they will need to expand a connector tube (ID = 56mm for the one they sent) and we'll go on from there.

You might try a custom exhaust shop, like a hot rod shop and see if they could expand the pipe to fit.

Yes; in fact I have a friend who has a performance shop for ATV's and dirt bikes and he mentioned he had an expander - might try that route - waiting to see what the manufacturer says.
