Have my new 2023 Pan Am Special equipped with the SE Quickshifter. This thing works great, for me at least - despite negative comments I read everywhere. Maybe it is the engine mapping or software that also has improved?
Anyway, coming from a BMW GS (Geriatric Solution) with quickshifter, this thing is a delight, no strange hicks or kickbacks as on the BMW.

I think the Quick shifter on my 15 BMW S1000rr was the best I have had on any of my bikes. I sure don't feel that way about the one that's on my 24 Pan America and rarely use it.

I agree, single best mod to my 23 PAS.

I raced a Honda CBR1000RR with a quick shifter for years (up only) and was surprised to discover that the quick shifter on my 2021 Kawasaki 1000SX road bike was the best quick shifter I have ever used. My first PAS mod will be an H-D quick shifter, so I look forward to sharing my experience.

SE QUICK SHIFTER works really well on my 23 PAS @ about 4000rpm and near redline WoT. Outside of those perimeters it can be finicky and clunky. It actually seems smoother when I first start riding than after all day runs. I use it fairly regularly and I think it works differently for every bike (though it should be butter smooth on all bikes). At least from reading the forums. It’s definitely a nice option to have. Maybe it has to do with programming, but as the dealership explained to me it was simply just turning the feature on in the ECM.

I installed mine and had the dealer "activate" it of course at the cost of 1/2 labor. It works great but I only use it part of the time, mainly upshifting after 3rd gear and rarely on downshifting. I use it a bit more on downshifting when on a gravel road or non-pavement. I'd also say that if you are upshifting at 3k that's way too low for this bike, anything below about 36-3800 the motor is starting to lug. I generally don't let mine get below 3800 at all except when going easy into town on fairly flat terrain, contributes to clutch wear when running too low RPM's too.
