Wow! Man, that's a steep policy cost!
I'm seeing that.. I use Geico for my non-HD bikes but as @AZPA1250S pointed out, Geico is a bit pricey for the PA. They quoted me 100/mo for the PA and 110 for the Ultra. HD insurance quoted 120 for both bikes so I thought that was a decent deal. (Basically 60 a month for each bike).

Seems really subjective by what I assume is location too.

I'm at 1400/yr for two bikes, while @Rocket is at 1,200 for two bikes and @JimmyP is at 900 for a year for two bikes BUT @roberts seems to have hit the jackpot at 166 a year for the same company (assuming not full coverage?).

If I drop the stated high payments and the stated low payments, It's looking like full coverage on the PA should be 300-500 a year on average.

Here are my coverages at 700/year (just for the Pan America):

Each bike has these coverages:

When I bought mine Aug 21 my current ins (markel) on 07RK was very reasonable. They didn't have rate at that time and called several days later with 2k a year!!!! Ouch, so I went with and still have ins thru HD! Thinking it's ~400/yr....which I think is tad high now.
Hello ODGreenPA,

I have to thank you and Tobba611 for mentioning H-D Insurance. I had been with another insurance company for 10 years and when I purchased my ’23 PA 1250S I naturally went to them. In talking with the agent they could not find a model RA1250S so identified it as a FXS. They said they would correct it later when the policy was issued. ?

The policy arrived with the FXS model designation. I called and they still could not find the RA1250S model in the database but, not to worry. Yea, right. If I ever had a claim, I could see a claim adjuster telling me that they never insured a policy for a PA1250S, so what did I do with the FXS?

I went on line with H-D Insurance, everything went well, the rate was slightly lower by $10/year at $420/year with coverages at $250,000/$500,000 with $1,000 deductible. Policy arrived with the correct model and follow up text messages making sure all was OK. 🙂

So far, so good. I hope I never have to make a claim. It is good piece-of-mind. Thank-you for the mentioning of H-D Insurance in your post.

Farm Bureau quoted 370/year for my PA. Matching coverages above. Big difference. Looks like I'm switching.

Glad i was able to indirectly help you out! Don't remember my coverage numbers but I'm sure they are similar to yours, and very close in price..... I even got a travel/trip insurance added on last year for 15$/yr, think it was a good purchase but hopefully I don't find out.😀

HD insurance was overcharging me according to everyone here and my new insurance company.

The only thing I really lost was the add-on accessory insurance. Not sure that is worth an additional 400/yr.

I haven't "shopped" around and after reading this thread, not sure if I will. Probably should, maybe when I'm due to renew.

Insurance is a very complicated thing. I have a very good rate with my insurance because I have multiple motorcycles, Trucks, RV, and homeowners insurance all with the same company. This allows for multiple discounts. If I had only the Pan America insured with them and nothing else I'm sure my rate would be at least four times what it currently is on my Pan America.
Many other factors go into your insurance rate as well including but not limited to your driving record, your age, how many motorcycles are stolen in your ZIP code, what part of the country you live in, your spouse driving record, your credit rating, etc.
What I'm trying to say is when you look at all these different insurance rates listed here you don't have all the facts.

The only fact I needed was that everyone on this forum was paying 40 to 70 percent less than me. But then I was given the additional fact that two other insurance agencies offered me identical coverages for nearly 60 percent less.

I get that I may not be comparing "apples to apples" but when I know my credit and driving record are perfect, I could care less about other the other details you mention.

This thread caused me to shop my insurance before the renewal date, and doing that saved me 400 bucks a year on the PA and 300 a year and my Ultra limited. Now I, like you have a very good rate too.

700 bucks a year. That's a fact. But thanks for your insight.

Glad you found a better rate. Always have to recheck my insurance every few years. Seems like every time it renews it goes up a little bit until it's not a good deal anymore.
Seems like the only way to keep the best rate is to bounce around every few years.

AMAZING! I just received a $64 refund from H-D Insurance after an underwriter review. That makes my annual premium $356/year. YES!

If you don’t mind me asking, who did you switch from and to?
