Clean collectors - HELP

Hoy lavando la moto el colector estaba todavía un poco caliente y me quemó la tela. El colector ha quedado ***** por la fibra de la tela. ¿Cómo puedo lavarlo? Está pegado y *****, no se quita. Dime si hay una solución:llorar:

I have had luck with wd-40 and a 3m scotchbrite pad. The courser grits pads can leave scratches so I start with the finer grit pads and lube generously with wd-40 as I scrub the exhaust. I usually finish up with some rubbing alchohol to remove any residue and let dry before starting the engine. The header should color itself back after a few hours of riding.

A conventional scouring pad and supermarket pot cleaner. I scratched some harder stains very gently with a ceramic blade and it turned all silvery. The plastic, product and fabric stains are gone. It will take bronze color as standard with the heat. No?

Will it be bad for the bike if I put a little caloric count here? I love it and this way I avoid thermal accidents in the future. But the gases will heat up differently and I'm afraid of breaking the bike.

That stuff will rot the pipes, if your in a damp climate. May take a couple of years, but they will rot.

I am considering ceramic coating in black to headpipe and extension. Not a fan of blued pipes.

if you don't like the blu-ing or bronze look, use some autosol anti-Blu/anti-blau or a similar product. it removes color easy and has a slight prevention effect.

The black will give it more of a touring bike look. I bought this to be a sport tourer, not a trail bike. I have lighter bikes for trail use.

Off course you are absolutely free to do to your bike what you want. I however would not cover anything on this bike that has to do with the engine, as it already runs as hot as can be...

Up to you, I wouldn't do it. From a heat point of view, I also think it would look weird to just coat a single pipe partly... but that's me...

There is plenty of information out there regarding heat wrapping exhaust systems. You should look into it before you decide to do it.
Partially wrapping a pipe in a hot area and not wrapping the entire pipe can cause the pipe to crack at the transition area where cooler air meets the wrapped area.
Of course the rot that can occur under the wrap should also be a concern.
Has anyone checked to see how long it would take to order a new "cat forward" exhaust from HD?
They don't stock them on the shelf

No heat issue with ceramic coating exhaust headers, been doing it for years on my hot rods. Actually lowers temp enough to affect exhaust scavenging on some motor setups.

Not coating just "part" of the exhaust. Coating header and extension to my FM slip-on.

Like shown on this bike.

I ceramic coated my sportster slip on exhaust. Years later it still looks great, its just a little sensitive if something rubs on it like a metal snap from your boot or something. I didnt do the headers though since there is a heat shield covers that clamp onto it. In fact, you may want to do do that. I think theres a company that lets you custom order those
