Over the past year I have read numerous articles and predictions regarding the future of the Pan America model. I have also noticed the different levels of enthusiasm for the Pan America when I visit H-D dealers. Sometimes the Pan America is in the back corner, other times the bike is right out front on display. When talking with parts techs or service techs you can get a sense of encouragement about the bike with comments such as "Five people ride that bike at this store" or "I took one out last week and it is fantastic". Or, you get the no interest comments such as "Don't know much about it". Since when does a new product hit the showroom and parts and service techs don't know much about it? Right, dealer doesn't want it.

Since the consumer is the one driving the market and not the other way around, why don't we create a Pan America Dealer Directory? This could be a list on the forum that identifies H-D dealers that are enthusiastic about the Pan America! It could include names, addresses, web site URLs, advertisements, sales information, map with locations, emergency repair numbers when traveling, forum member experiences and even the dealers comments, etc, etc.

Should we not favor the dealers that show support for this fantastic product?

Your thoughts.

Champion Harley Davidson in Roswell has been my go to, the service manager has always been very helpful with my Pam Am.
Now, with that being said, not all people have the same experience with the dealerships that we have personally. Alot of that has to do with expectations and attitude.
I say this alot.....having a good relationship with your dealership is very important! It is also a personal experience.
It would be good to know the dealerships that shun the Pan America.

If a Pan America H-D dealer section is to be added to the forum what are the approvals/logistics to make it happen? Would this be up to the Administrators? (Administrator & ZEDBRA) and/or the Super Moderators (ROCKET & SQ51LACFD)? Does it need a description of what the section would look like? information provided? guidelines on allowed comments? Does FORA already have an add-on that fulfills this objective? I would be more than happy to assist or champion such an effort if it is decided that it would be beneficial to the Forum.

Bluegrass and wildcat are my go to , both are 100-120 miles from me where I live in south central ky , bought my 2021 in February of 2024 at Bluegrass Harley-Davidson and several own and ride em there 1 tech and 1 salesman for certain.

It would be best to create this in a wiki-style format, and i dont know that the site owners want to undertake something like that. Searching forums isnt the ideal way, which is too often how it happens.

For my two cents, i posted a video a few months back about a former HD salesman who used to work at Bert's in Tampa. From his opinion, that dealership hated the PA. Granted he was also a disgruntled former employee, so take that with a grain of salt.

But i think a wiki or other site would need firsthand info, not stuff they heard from friends or social media.

From my experience, the dealerships that don't like the PA, also hated the M8's back in 2018, but now it's all they work on.. Its a people thing, not a motorcycle thing. Mechanic attrition usually takes care of that. Give them another shot after six months or so.

Who are the site owners?

Who are the site owners?
Found the owners! It is a group called VerticalScope out of Toronto with offices in Estonia (Northern Europe), and Cayman Islands. They also own the following sites related to H-D activities: Harley-Davidson Forums and V-Twin Forum. There may be more as they have over 1,000 sites. They are a division of FORA with links and contact details at the bottom of the page.

Yes, this is a VerticalScope owned forum. They own over 1,700 forums around the globe. FORA is the software they use across almost all forums (some of the older forums but new to Verticalscope do not get changed over immediately). They own other Harley forums, one which I also Admin on. Chances are - if you want to find a forum on a subject, they probably have one for the topic.

I am a forum Administrator and I have the capability to create new Subforums here; I have created many on this site already. As the forum grows, so do the needs of the Members to organize info better, and that is part of the Admin job here. Anytime there are decisions to be made regading changes on the forum, the entire Mod Squad is consulted and we try to formulate a decision based on what we hear and see from other Members as to what edits would best suit the Members here. So, we collaborate and then if anything needs to be performed in the software, then a site Admin - which is me on this forum - can make several different edits in the software to enhance the forum function.

TL/DR - I can make these changes and can also edit descriptions along the way; that's my job function.
