Hi folks,
Have a 2024 CVO model i picked up last May , over 12,000kms on her and yesterday when i went to start it this came up on the dash and the starter button didn't engage at all, any ideas what's causing a mode fault ( what's that second symbol beside it?)as i rode the bike into the garage with no issues ?

Folks,
I brought the bike to the dealership , it was a blown fuse that caused the starter button not to engage.
But my problem is this, that fuse also prevented me from accessing the diagnostic screen which should have told me what was causing the problem. Apparently , and I am only saying what was told to me , that fuse governs lots of different circuits, so I was completely stranded with no way of finding out what the problem was because of one blown fuse!!

Any info on this golden fuse so the rest of us can maybe carry one around and know where to look if we have issues?

I’m collecting the bike tomorrow and have asked for a mechanic to be present to explain exactly what you just asked. I’ll revert tomorrow.

Honestly, it sounds like your dealership couldn't replicate/diagnose the issue and came up with the fuse story. That 15A PAC fuse can be completely removed from the bike without having any effect on the performance of the bike. It has no bearing on the ECM, BCM, or any of the can-bus monitored control modules. Even if all 3 fuses were to be removed, the bike would still start. You would have to blow/remove the square 40A fuse to cause a no-start.

You could be right, unfortunately I am not very experienced when it comes to high tech bikes. All I know is what they told me and the bikes running now. What do you think caused the problem? Appreciate any advice.

When the fault occurred, did you try cyling the ignition several times? Also were there any codes? The Pan Am is one of the most voltage sensitive bikes I've encountered. It's possible that you had a phantom glitch caused by a brief moment of low voltage that may never explained.

Yes I tried multiple times. I couldn’t access the codes because I couldn’t use the screen on the bike to see. I hope it’s a one off. Thank you.
Hi
I took your advice and I rang the mechanic in the dealership directly . It was fuse 2 that blew and that’s what caused the bike not to start . I hope that makes more sense??

I had a similar thing. Replace the battery in your key fob. Just a thought.

Ok so after a months riding the same thing happened yesterday , the mode warning light cam on while riding and I was lucky to be close to home so I got back. once I stopped it the bike wouldn't start , I couldn't access the menu , indicators didn't work nothing.
so I changed the 7.5 fuse this morning and the warning signals were gone and the bike fired up no problem. Can someone please explain to me what is happening , its a 2 second job to change the fuse and they aren't expensive but that's not the point , on a new €30k motorcycle this shouldn't happen?? I haven't added anything that would blow the fuse and for the first 12,000 this didn't happen but now twice in a month?

I carry extra fuses
There is a thread about the locating and amps
It is located under the seat. I think it's a 20 amp?

Hi,
On my 24 there are three AMPs in a housing bracket directly under the seat, one is 15AMP one is 7.5 Amp and one is a 10Amp fuse, so I changed the 10 amp first still no joy , then the 15 same result then the 7.5 and as I said all warnings disappeared and the bike fired up so whatever is causing the 7.5amp to blow this is the cause, thanks.
