Sport Cases Zylinder/Bolt come out?!

Hi guys!

I got the Sport Cases for my PA and now I noticed that the cylinders come out when I remove the key.
This seems to be with all of them and seems to be a design/construction fault.

Has anyone seen or read about a solution somewhere?
Does anyone know anything to fix it? How can I secure that zylinders?

The "Retention Tumbler" is installed correctly, the hole zylinder comes out on lock position, when i pull the key.
Thats not normal.
Rest is working as planed, locking and unlocking.

The cylinder must be installed with key in, and the lock set opening in the bag should be in the ‘release’ position, and the release latch should be up. You have to then push it down hard to get the retention tumbler to lock into place. If you are doing all these things, maybe the retention piece in the lock set opening has been damaged.

Harley has a fix for this problem, both of my lock cylinder's pulled out and they were keyed by the dealer. They have fixed one side of the cases and the parts just arrived to fix the other ( four month wait on the parts if I remember correctly). The cylinder that was fixed works fine although it still is harder to turn than it should be.

Had the same thing happen to me on a weeklong ride in North Georgia. Local HD dealer told me September for the kit to arrive. I have a 6400 mile ride over two weeks planned for August, and I am screwed because of this kit😤

That part number for the kit might help me with the other case that is still working.

These are the part number's the dealer ordered @wagi4812 and @DougS To fix my case locks.

1) Kit, lockset, case Part# 90300167
2) Latch, S--bag, RH Part # 90202130

Those are for my right hand case. I looked on the HD site and could not find those part numbers listed. Might be numbers only the dealer has access to being they are parts for accessories. Hope this helps.

Just got a call from my local HD dealer. Corporate approved giving me a new left sport case due to my lock mechanism being broken. I only had the cases for 21 days before the barrel would just pull out like wagi4812 experienced. Dealer has had my broken bag since April 17th. They originally told me August for the parts to arrive. Glad this is getting sorted out, kinda. I have a feeling they will break again. I am not going to lock the cases anymore until an updated part is possibly made. I like the style, shape and weight. I just hope I don' get stranded cause of my love for these cases.
