Yes, the heat is pretty nasty, especially when you come toa stop and put your feet down. Your legs are then closer to the exhaust pipes on the right side. I wrapped the exhaust pipes with "exhaust heat wrap". It has improved the situation a bit.

Jumped up Saturday morning and did a quick 1 mile run to the store on the PA... Did it in shorts (something I would normally never do). This was the first time I noticed it being hot on my right leg. Now, I did notice the fan making my left leg and thigh really hot on the PA while sitting in traffic on a 90 degree day last summer. So over the winter, I bought a fan deflector that comes stock on a 23 and installed it on my 21.. Solved left.. Pants solved right. Lol..

I had an 06 Honda ST1300 that would cook my right leg in an hour at 30mph. I ended up wrapping the pipe and adding insulation to part of the body work (ST1300 forum knowledge). I'm not sure the PA needs all that but to each their own.

The hottest temp I've ever seen my PA display was 236, stuck in traffic on a 90 degree day.

You can check out Wunderlich for the heat shields they make real nice parts for the PA.
This, specifically? Thanks.

Wunderlich Heat Shield
Part # 90289002

I was in a gridlocked city and saw 67 C on the gauge….. my blue jeans didn’t help!

Compared to the big M8 this bike is like riding with AC. We rode in 90 deg F ambient temps today no issues. I t will only get better Monday when the big squat heater under the passenger gets removed and replaced with a pipe and Screaming Eagle exhaust and Intake filter for more air flow. But honestly this bike is cool based on my experience so far.

Actually, no. I put over 75,000 miles on an M8. Never had a problem with heat. Yesterday, in stop-and-go traffic on the freeway, I roasted my left leg so badly that I got a nasty rash and boils. I hope the scars aren't permanent.

I disagree the M8 are known to have 270-280 degree oil temps without mods. It’s air cooled all that hot air runs right past your lower body. An water cooled engine see temps no greater than 192 deg F so you are just not paying attention or have no nerves in your lower body. Engineering says other wise.

Pan Am hit 240F today. You need to stop. I don't think you have ever ridden and PanAm or an M8.

Dude I owned more bikes than you have ever riden. In fact I traded a CVO Limited Road Glide that I had for one year with 10,000 miles and drove this 2023 Pan Amercan Special for one week already over 1000 miles. So don’t be so ignorant . I might add I have been riding bikes since 1975 you were not even a thought in your mommy’s mind…..you are troll AND full of 💩 …….troll 🤣😂🤣😂

I'm riding in Singapore where daily temperature is around 30-35°C all year round. It becomes very uncomfortable with the heat from both left side (radiator fan blowing) and right side (resonator and cat).

In Singapore, it's illegal to remove the resonator and Cat. I guess I can only add heat deflector on the fan side and heat shield on the Cat.

Anyone has added the heat deflector and heat shield? Does it helps to reduce the heat? Apart from these two modification, any other method that you have done to help reduce the heat.

I really love the bike but I want to make it comfortable to ride in tropical weather. Thanks in advanced.
