agree the price is high for the aux lights and install kit...dealer gave me 25% off any accessories and free install on any accessories I purchased when I bought the bike, so jumped on that offer for a couple things. The mounting bracket is attached to the side crash bar about midway up. Sorry for bug infested pic, prepping for a 4000 mile trip and haven't got to cleaning the bike. I will say the aux lights work really well for me with just the low pair on. I know they say the upper pair are not street legal and for off-road but when all 4 are lit on those dark country roads visibility isn't an issue LOL.

I put the Denali brackets on my PA ten minutes to install and they don’t move like the factory ones do with vibration.

I'm finding this response is typical of most harley dealerships. They throw whatever tech they have available at the PA/PAS and charge the customer while the tech muddles through the software package they have no training on. My bike has been in the shop 9 times in the year I've owned it, same BS story every time. " We updated the software/bios/computers, pretty sure that should solve the issues you are having" Nope, same crap, random trouble codes, random shut downs, random no starts, random TFT screen blank outs. Biggest POS I have ever owned, don't dare take it anywhere I need to get to on time.

Well today I took the PAS in for the 1,000 mile service and I really didn’t feel like paying a 1/2 hour of shop time for them to try and figure out how to change the bank angle sensor settings. I spoke with the tech and he was basically saying that they would have to plug in the computer and search around the settings to see how to do it (in other words, they don’t know where the settings are or how to easily access them). I said that I would just unplug the adaptive headlight and he said that it would throw a check engine light, so I can’t do that. Time to angle the light way down and maybe cover it in some translucent film or Plasti Dip.
I unplugged mine and didn't get an engine warning light and its been unplugged for 5K plus.

I only had a bike a day and rode it in the dark this morning. At first I was excited to see how adapted light works, but quickly after seeing them in action, though they do work pretty well, it's just a crappy design. I have to imagine you're ticking off the cagers on every corner mainly because they think they are being high beamed from behind. There should be a way to shut this option off. Plus IMO a better design would of been to have all the LED lights on but dimmed and then brighten each LED the more you lean.

Also what's up with the function of the auto brightness on the display? Every single street light I passed the display would brighten and then dimming again. Between the display doing this and adaptive lighting going on/off. I felt like a rolling circus.

Hi there, what tires are you running on the bike? interesting tread.

As I ride half of my commute in the dark, I have not been liking the Adaptive Headlight, especially since a lot of my commute involves curves. I have read somewhere that the lean angle can be changed so the Adaptive Headlight does not come on so easily (Cagers are constantly thinking I am flashing them and it actually causes some dangerous situations when they get confused by the lights turning on and off). Is this something that the Dealer has to do? I cannot find anywhere to adjust the lean angle engagement (If I remember correctly, there were only 3 preset angles available).

I find the light from the headlight alone is not acceptable and I really do not want to pay an additional $800 to add Aux lights; I was wondering if there was any way to turn on the Adaptive Headlight (both sides at once) WITH the headlight and use it strictly as an Aux light. It could be adjusted down, so as to not blind any oncoming traffic. I would just wire it straight into the headlight switch, but I don't want to void my warranty. I almost feel like just having the Dealer turn it off fully (what a waste of a Special only feature).
really? cagers....

You adjust it by pressing on the bottom of the lense to lower the beam, and the top of the lense to raise it.
I know this is an old post, but what “height” is everyone setting their lights at for road use? Dealer installed mine and they were literally pointing up into the trees. I ultimately adjusted them so that the wide light is about as high as my low beam and the long casting one is about the height of my high beam.

I have mine adjusted to my riding conditions...Long stretches of highway, with twisties in the mix......
Lots of deer on the straights, and Elk in the twisties....
Set your lights to your conditions.

so i cannot get my banking light to work. in acc mode it does not light up and never when riding it. dealer checked for me today and said it is toggled on. any help? i should see 12v at the headlight plug? comes from bcm unless theres a plug somewhere or a broekn wire somehow...its a 23 special so it is factory innstalled.....

Well, it only comes on "at speed" and while the bike is leaning.. There is a place in the menus to force it on, so it can be aimed. Try forcing it on. (it'll reset off when you start it or cycle the ignition.)
