Removed my fuel tank and added the H-D (K&N) extreme air filter, ran all the CANsmart wiring under the tank, installed the Motohorns and the B6. Bike should be quite a bit safer now! Horns and brake light are operated via the CANsmart with no additional relays and plug n play CANsmart wiring. OEM horn removed, stock wiring for it secured (course the BCM is throwing a horn code, "open circuit" lol).

That fuel line is a bit tricky threading back in and down, be careful with it. I ran all the CANsmart wiring (power and horn circuit--2 additional light circuits will be run eventually when I add some lights) down the L side of the airbox.

We won't discuss how much sand was inside the old filter (I Just had the 5K mile service done last Weds!). Most dealers will only borescope the air intake, guess they didn't see the sand and bugs in there? (^;

I have some short videos for the brake light operation and horn loudness, but I don't see a way to add videos here?

Great , does it fit in the original housing? Does it brings any more performance?
do you have the specification about the k&n air filter?
A lot of questions because I had this also in mind.

Yes, fits in housing because H-D is the only one selling it to my knowledge. Didn't get a chance to ride the bike this afternoon, so nothing on performance yet. I'll be putting an exhaust on it soon, so wanted to get this knocked out first (and needed to remove the tank anyway for the CANsmart wiring).

I have an issue with HD on their maintenance when it comes to air filter inspection.
I picked up my bike from the second service and then installed a GPS mount where I did remove the tank to route wiring, and was awful upset when I saw how dirty my air filter was.
I have regretted signing into the maintenance program for 4 years ever since.

I bought a 2 yr service plan locally (mostly so as to have no warranty issues with them). 2 yrs/15K miles, "major" services at 1K/5K/10K and 15K. Oil changes at 2.5K.

Wish I had beat this out on some cardboard, but know my floor was clean when I did this lol.

WOOOOOHOOOOOO! Glad to hear all of it. I think you're right. No video media allowed on this just yet. LOVE to see it though. Where does the can smart plug into? Where are you jacking into the battery?

The CANsmart is under the seat, plugs into the plug H-D uses for their Tech computer (it stays plugged in).
While I had the tank off, the CANsmart battery circuit cable (as well as the horn circuit cable) were routed alongside the airbox, battery cable directly to my 600 amp lithium ion battery. There are 2 more circuits/cables available for future front lights (I didn't run them yet, but they will go under the tank as well unless I run em under the plastic centerpiece on the tank).. B6 plugged directly into the CANsmart under the seat.

Thanks @Jesse Davis ! Looks like Denali gets the vote!

I learned that life lesson with a Subaru that I purchased…. All of these companies are trying to do as little as possible for as much profit as they can collect.

wait...what? WHOOOOHOOOO
I believe he is referring to the double plugs for heated gear, Amazon has a Y to use em for power for other things. The CANsmart is plugged into the RED large plug (same one used by H-D techs to hook their computers to).

No, there is a harnass adaptor that HD sells that plugs into the vacant port under the seat. It branches off into a couple different plug styles. I'll dig up the PN for you guys. Super handy

This guy displays the PN for the harness as well as installation to his Garmin GPS.
I followed his video and verified his electrical connections and worked perfectly.
My HD dealership had the harness in stock. Not spec for the PAS as packaging specs it for the touring models. Maybe to lazy to change the packaging label. Would cost them money

Roger that, thanks! That is not the port the Denali Electronics CANsmart is plugged into (it's red, used for diagnostic computer plugin). Good to know we have some more options under the seat for power!

Great work. . . Waiting on delivery of the Denali B6 as the brake light on the Pan Am not so great, and as a commuter, want to be seen. Also ordered the Denali T3's.

Been using the B6 on a couple of bikes and with the controller set to flash it works great as it flashes 3 times either when you hit the brake or if the bike has a decelerometer it will do it when slowing down quick. Love these.
