I am officially joining the family! Sorry if I am the red head step child. I have been out of riding for about 10yrs and it was time to start again, my kids are old enough to ride with me. I brought the bike home today and even though it was only 37 degrees, the sun was out and I had to take it for a little spin. Can't wait to get familiar with the bike. I can tell there is a lot of bike here and am looking forward to having many great miles. My last bike was a Yamaha FJR 1300, so I am used to having a powerful bike.

Thanks @KnuckleHead! I have always said my next bike would be the BMW GS, I had ridden that bike before and it is great bike. But,,,,, the electronic height adjustment is a big deal for me on the Pan Am as I am vertically challenged. :) I don't think you can go wrong with either bike.

@Germcati the check engine light never went off after I started the bike. The code is: P032500- Knock sensor front or single circuit open. I will clear it and see if it happens again, hopefully this is just a battery issue. I had paid for a lithium battery from the dealer, but it seems that the service didn't instal one. I have contacted them and they are going to fix this in the near future.

WELCOME TO THE FORUM. You badass adding the lights and skid plate and cases and muffler out the gate. YOU BEAST! Gratitude for the electronics here. My money says the sensor is related to the lights install etc. Every rider on this forum has a different relationship with the electronics, battery ops, etc. Just breathe. AND YES GO TAKE IT IN THE MUD. Then breathe more and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share what you learn. Sure you can vent of course if necessary but brotherman brotherman, every member here VALUES the perspective of each rider. I'm telling you EVERY SOLUTION I'VE FOUND on this forum was based on a SINGLE RIDER EXPERIENCE AND EXPLANATION that spoke to me directly some how and hell yes it contributed in a very positive way to keep me happy. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY 850 POUND LANA TURNER ROAD GLIDE. But man oh man, my Pan America seems like an extension of me. I put my Road GLide on a garage dolly pretending that I'm spoiling her...but to be honest, I'm just hoping she doesn't give me the side eye when she sees how frequently I'm sneaking out the back on my Pan America Special! WELCOME TO THE FORUM. PARTICIPATE, SHARE. AND RIDE ON!

Welcome from sunny Florida! Are there any changes to the 2023 model year?
Yes, there are a few small changes. They added a heat shield on the left side to direct hot air, a heat shield on the pipe below the right foot peg, a spring in the windshield to stop the wobbling. They also bent the front exhaust pipe more to keep it away from the radiator hose. I haven't confirmed, but have been told that the battery area is a little different. My dealer is having a hard time finding a lithium battery for the bike because of this. That is all I know about.
