Been riding Harley Davidson touring bike for years. Usually take at least one or two long trips a year. Very attracted to the Pan America. At 67 years old I'm a little concerned about comfort. What does everyone think. Purchasing within the next couple of months. Thanks

i have a touring bike as well but i,m looking at the pa. i like the simplicity and weight reduction. i,m a tad concerned about comfort but there seems to be alot of adv riders that do really big rides with no trouble at all. i wonder how they do it but i guess i will find out soon enough. i am willing to trade some comfort for ease of handling , easy parking and stuff like that. lets go for it

With risers and an upgraded seat it comes close to my Streetglide. The big difference is in wind protection. In winter you are going to feel the cold a little more and your legs and feet will get more rain. I feel like the wind pocket has less turbulence, but there is more wind noise.

I've owned a Fatboy, Roadking, Ultra Limited and still own and ride a 2016 Roadglide Ultra CVO. I purchased my 2022 PAS, this past December. The feel of the rides are completely different, and both in a great way. The PAS is a nimble motorcycle, light and easy to maneuver. Not a whole lot of lighting on the PAS though. I added running/brake lights for the rear and will add lights to the front as well. I love both my Harleys. I also added highway pegs, that I will hopefully get to test out on an upcoming road trip. The PAS is a blast to ride.

What the others don,t mention is "age" the comfort is there with the higher suspension, its a tall bike so perhaps the ARH (if it works ) would help.If your bones still work to get on and off the bike sure it could be a good bike for you you can get a few tips here in the forum i,e,how to delete the many codes you might get. I recomend touratech for modifications and i would go for at least a 2022 model good luck.

Welcome to the "Over The Hill" club!!
I'm 67 as well..been riding HD,s most my life. I bought a 22 PAS in May last year. I love this bike. I still have my 07 Ultra..will never part with it. I didn't like the stock bar position so I installed a Helibar riser. 2" up and 2" back..very comfortable riding position now.

I'm 67yrs.old and have a fair amount of arthritis; especially in the knees. I traded in a 2015 BMW K1600 GT for the PAN. At about 700lbs. with a full tank of gas with the BMW, I felt my riding days were slowing considerably and maybe coming to an end because of my arthritis and the weight of the BMW; until I discovered the PAN on line. Almost 200 lbs. lighter, 150hp. at the rear wheel, good technology and I loved the way it looked. Went to my local HD dealership, did a test drive and loved the bike from the get go. Good on the knees, light weight, nimble and fun to ride. I traded in the BMW and bought the PAN.
I'm 6' tall, so as a somewhat taller rider, I can reach the standard bars, riding in a more straight up position with a little bend in the elbow and can touch the ground. The ARH makes things even better. I have the ARH set to auto. Nice feature.
I'm still at the 500 mi. break in period and this is what is happening so far: At 6' tall, I needed a slightly higher windshield and went for a Puig windshield that's about 2" taller than stock. The screen is better than stock and I like the way it looks on the bike but not sure how it will perform at highway speeds; stabilization etc. I went with the Jiffy Adventure kickstand but I have to say, I'm not crazy about the HD kickstand. The bike leans a little too much when the stand is down and getting off and on the bike when standing on the foot pads doesn't illicit a lot of confidence. It takes a little time to get used to, like putting down the kickstand at fuel stops etc.
I would highly recommend a radiator guard; best investment you can make. I went with the added protection of a skid plate to protect the regulator and battery. The up/down quick shifter from HD is a nice option too; takes a little getting used to but well worth it if your into that kind of thing.
All in all, I really like the PAN. Comfortable, upright, nimble and fast. I haven't had the bike off road yet but looking forward to doing some of that in the future. It's great so far as a touring bike. I haven't experienced any electronic issues. (Codes, malfunctioning, starter issues so far; still early.) I would educate oneself on all the features on the dash (IM) (phone, headset paring, audio, navigation and read the owners manual on line.) It would definitely help to have a supportive HD dealership near by to help with general questions, software updates and service.

PULL THE TRIGGER.
I love you guys and this forum. At 59 I can still find a way to be the kid in the room. I can't agree more with the freedom I feel with a 300 pound difference from my bagger. I LOVE my Road Glide but this PAS is a game changer. I hate the kickstand though and have gotten in the habit of putting the bike up on the center stand every time.
