Have a 2021 Pan, at 10k. Started to notice a momentary screeching sound at power up from the fuel pump.
Is this a precursor to failure? Bike’s never sat more then a couple days since Aug 21, but I’ve had to fuel up at where every a station was out on the road, so never from a single source.

Fuel pump started making a sound like it was pumping gravel. Read on these posts where everyone is finding dirt on the filter, same here. Started looking where it could be coming from and the tank vent tube is open right behind the front wheel just below the headlight. Ran a Q-tip into it and it is full of dirt. Guessing this is the problem. Am going to try a small engine fuel filter in the end of it to see if that will help filter the air. Hope this helps.

I am ordering an aftermarket pump today, in theory I could use a different strainer that doesnt sit half in and out of the housing. Definitely looking forward to the days of a quiet fuel pump.

Reviving a somewhat old thread. Who has installed one of the QFS aftermarket fuel pumps? How hard was it to install? Were there any other parts needed for the installation? I have one of the QFS pump coming and I had asked them for installation instructions and they stated they do not provide installation instructions. I want to make sure I have everything needed to install the pump when it arrives.

Just started getting that screeching sound from fuel pump only on first start of the day, turning off and right back on again and pump noise is normal. 2022 PanSpecial havnt had it a full year yet but does have 11300 miles on it. Called dealership(Schaeffers HD Orwigsburg, PA) the service dept is gonna check if I can get it replaced as warranty item....either way I wanna swap it out. Anyone have any luck getting this covered or replacing pump with aftermarket?!
