Hi guys
Is there any follow-up on this thread? I got an oil light when the engine was idling and/or AT low revs this was around 10K miles. The dealership took it in, first, they tried the pressure sensor but that didn't help, so to pulled the oil pump apart and found scoring looking like some metal shavings could have come from elsewhere in the engine. At this point, H-D approved a new engine as being less expensive than an extended root cause analysis.
The engine arrived 2wks later and they are now reassembling, the holidays seem to be slowing progress down, but hopefully, I'll get it back next week.
I do ride hard, but 99% on asphalt, when I say hard, I ride with some buddies on sports bikes.
Just be nice to know if there are any horror stories from dealer-installed engine blocks, I'm guessing that paying customers probably take preference over warranty work leading to inconsistency in the resources doing the work - maybe - this is just in my mind - I don't have any reason to question the quality of work.
