Picked up the new 22 Pan America Special 2 weeks ago. Test ride was very good and bike felt familiar right off. Some changes will be necessary such as risers. Ordered sport luggage and the top case as on and waiting on the sides. Glad to have the bike. Been riding for a while and have owned different brands besides Harleys. This one just feels right. Looking forward to the forum.

Nice and the PA does feel good. Today was my first real test/miles with new risers, (A1 cycles) gotta say I like them. I can only compare (A1) with the OE and I'm not sponsored/endorsed/commissioned/getting anything from A1 cycles for saying, they truly helped my posture and think they'll help keep me in the saddle longer.

I'm in Atwater near Merced. A bit north of you. Bought the bike from Michell's Modesto Harley. I think it's a really great bike. Got my ROX Risers yesterday. Will have them on and tested by the weekend. Still waiting on the Sport side .cases
Bought my bike down at Bartel's in Marina Del Rey. I will have 1K miles on it today. Put the A1 risers on and really made a difference. Haven't done the side case yet, put a Givi Monokey rear case and Two Brother's exhaust.

I like the Givi stuff, I had it on my GS and VStrom. If Harley would have back ordered the top case I would have went that way again. I had the Jesse side cases on both my VStroms, excellent cases but pricey. They do make stuff for the Pan America. I looked but they are too industrial for me at this time. How is the exhaust? Been on any long trips with it? I would like to know if it wears on you after a time.

Yeah, I had the Givi case from my KTM 1290. I like their quick-release side racks. The exhaust isn't overly loud but I am going to put a dB killer in it just to tame it slightly and make a spark arrestor for it. I ride it to work every day, 30 miles one way. I rode it 300 miles one day but had stock exhaust. It was a comfortable ride so no complaints. I take it in next week for the 1K mile go-over. Putting the extreme screaming eagle air filter in and laying wiring for my Garmin GPS.

Mods sound interesting. The Adv type bikes I've had I put an electrical box in directly to the battery. Wired up things like GPS and aux lights. It is a 'PC8' sourced from 'Eastern Beaver ' in Japan. Guy does terrific work. Makes wiring harnesses for it and relay circuits for headlights, lots of electrical goodies. This box has switched circuits, you can have a couple hot all the time or just hot with the key on. Kinda isolates the extra circuits from the 'can buss' system on the bike. He has a web sight if you are interested.
