Walked in with the intent to test ride and walked out with the bike. The price minus tags, title, and taxes was $19,999.00; from what I hear that's pretty good for a Pan America Special with all the goodies. Including the laced tubeless wheels and the G.I. Enthusiast Collection Paint? Curious to know if anyone feels different. Also, wanted to share a youtube channel I found very informative and had some workarounds for power and attachments. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBI-WdAxzlimN2j8hNEk1-vgFBWaPLI38

I welcome any tips tricks and suggestions. I am especially interested in the best "Inexpensive Luggage" options, and what the consensus is on the GPS, personally, I think it sucks and the guy in the above youtube had an excellent work around. Hope you all have a great day and look forward to hearing some responses!

Hi malinois,

I'd say you got a pretty good deal on the bike - being a Special with laced wheels (as mine is) I'd expect to pay closer to $22k. I have several Harleys and don't do "everything H-D" when it comes to clothes, gear, mods, etc., so I'm always open to well-made (and tasteful) aftermarket products, alternate boots, US made coats like Schott, etc. I put a Shad Terra top box on mine and really like it. I believe these are made in Italy and back at the time I got mine through a dealer in Spain, and with shipping it was still considerably less than the H-D box, and I got it faster too as I think H-D boxes were on back order when I was shopping. Of course this was about a year ago so things may have changed by now. I think Shad has US distribution now too but I'm not sure - you can search Shad Motorcycle Luggage on your favorite search engine and find them. I haven't put the side paniers on but Shad makes them as well. As a side note, I really wanted to put a set of soft sided rubberized "Khali" panniers on by another Italian company called Unit Garage. They are very nice and don't have the giant "HARLEY DAVIDSON" logo on them, which just isn't my thing. But unfortunately their brackets didn't integrate with the Shad top box mounting system - one downside of using various suppliers. Just my two cents - cheers.
