Clear it and go. Tell your dealer to do the software updates that just came out … should fix most (if not all) of the cold start issues.Started the bike up this morning and U228700P greeted me.
Software updates did not correct my problems. I have the current Update 5.1355.2 20221031…it did fix the random screen going blank though. So at least i have a speedometer now.
I would take it back. I wish I had returned mine the first time codes appeared. It’s extremely annoying clearing codes and shutting off and restarting the bike EVERY time you have to ride it. My first and last Harley.Started the bike up this morning and U228700P greeted me.
The update you referred to is not the latest. The 10/31/22 update was for the Infotainment system, you can do that yourself. There are two new updates to the BCM and ECM that specifically address the cold start codes, These have to be done by the dealer.

How do I know if the BCM and ECM are updated? Shouldn’t that already be updated?. I just bought the bike new.
The service bulletin (M1579) covering the updates was dated January 24, 2023 … that was only six days ago. Best to ask your dealer about it.

Does the dealer usually perform software updates for free? How does one know when new updates are available?
Mine needed 4 updates. Thanks for the info….had it taken care of yesterday. Hopefully it fixed it. 🤞

the bike started fine from a cold start today . 44° out. 11.6 v on the screen before hitting the start button. No hesitation and no codes ! That’s the first time it’s done that in the last 500 miles from a cold start.
