Dang, been posting here without doing an introduction!
I picked up a PAS 2022, in black just a few weeks ago and so far so good.
Last 15,000 miles was on a Sportster, so the PAS feels like riding a cloud in comparison. Before that I rode a pretty even spread of old dirt bikes, 70's Honda CB's and a Yamaha R5. My wife has tagged along on the back a few times, and she gives it the thumbs up but I think she misses the obnoxious sportster sissy bar.
My favourite things so far about the Panny -
1. The brakes - I've never had a bike with ABS or dual front rotors so this feels amazing. It wasn't that long ago I was riding a bike with a mechanical disc or old drum brakes, so this is an upgrade x1000000
2. Custom ride modes - I really like Road, Sport and Rain but felt that Road and Sport had far too much engine braking if you weren't shifting real fast between gears, so be able to dial back the engine braking to exactly where I want it is brilliant. Also, the rain mode is fantastic. I actually use it if I'm in stop/start traffic with my wife on the back as it's a much smoother, almost robotically smooth take off. We never clang helmets in Rain mode. Once I'm on the highway I switch it off though. If you ever have a passenger that feels a little uncomfortable, give it a try.
3. The suspension - It's so smart, i love being able to ride solo with nothing, or two up with a bunch of gear and barely have to change anything myself.
4. The gas tank ... it's the perfect amount of gas for me. I'll get 10 days of work commutes from a tank, or a long weekend ride with friends in just a couple. I used to be the annoying gas guy who had to stop every six miles, now the shoe is on the other foot with my friends on Ducati scramblers and hyper's .. they can only go half as far as me.
Anyway, I could go on but after test riding Africas, Tigers, Scramblers, Multistradas etc, I'm glad I got the PAS. There might be better bikes out there but this one felt good straight out of the box.
