I find the quick shifter paired with a heel shifter is really fun and makes shifting extremely easy. Sometimes its a little hard to find that little knob and get your toe under it to pull up (big feet/boots). I just rotate my heal and I've shifted to the next gear.

Can either of you two explain the quick shifter to someone that's never used one. What or how does it change during stoping/starting situations? Can you use clutch and QS together?(habit factor) Does a QS lengthen the life of your clutch or shorten the life. I would like to put it on my new 2022 PanAm but don't know anything about it.

The bike operates as normal if you use the clutch, the only time you notice the QS is when you don't use the clutch to change gears.
A QS does not add a Centrifugal clutch to the mix so starting and stopping requires the use of the clutch lever or you would stall.

So it's what my brain reasoning about it. I'm 56 so clutching is embedded into my soul so as long as I can do both without monkeying it up I'm in. I do have a concern with my HD putting it on , they act like the bike came out last week and trusting them to get anything down to a milla seconds shift change is questionable, guess I'm mechanic with programming skills hunting. Thank's for your response and insight.

was at the dealer yesterday for the recalls and saw the new ( quick shifter ) for the pan america .........to bad it only works on 22 and up whats with that Harley?
Every person has a built in quick shifter ;)

At least for upshifts ... This transmission is awesome about meshing. At high RPMs a swift flick forward while applying light pressure with your left big toe let's the gear fall right in
