Infor post:
Had my Pan at the dealer for a TFT and Seat Railing Recall, and it's first rear tire replacement (Cast Wheels),
Service called and said that the rear bearing frozen up, and tech had to pound the axle out. Rust on the axle and race/spacer, grooving on the bearing assembly.
Stated it's definitely a warranty issue. Getting pictures from them later.

Update:
Inner Wheel bearing race on left side froze on Axle, Tech really had to working it with the dead-blow to get it out. To the point where axle was slightly bent. So new Axle, 4 wheels bearings, cush-drives for sprocket. No Rust on axle or bearings, but you could see the discoloration on the axle where the bearing race froze on to it. Dealer holding parts to send back to HD if asked, all work covered under warranty.

Not enough/any grease applied at the factory? Tight bearing/wheel should be easily picked up with pre-ride checks? Note my chain is looking like it needs tensioned, tempted to whip the wheel out and have a look now you've had this issue.

No grease from factory installation
Doomed to fail prematurely and to be honest, something that should have been picked up at the pre-delivery inspection at the dealership, so they ain't blameless either, as that really is 'basic' motorcycle maintenance, like fitting the rear wheel. Check, clean, lubricate, fit, adjust & torque securely. I will be having that rear wheel spindle out as it is high time I got my hands around the oily bits, on that there motorcycle. Yon main/centre stand comes in damn handy, yet again.

Thanks for sharing, and ride safe.

how many miles did you have on it? I ride a Road Glide Ultra also, I've had bearing go out on both the front and rear, twice each (120,000 miles). First front bearing went out around 25k, first rear went out at 40k or so.
