I was so excited to find finally be able to purchase a quick shifter for my 2021 Pan America, a bike that I've really enjoyed. To find out that the Quick Shifter doesn't fit the 2021 model year .......

I really hope that Harley can develop a fix for this, because it's really frustrating.

Frustrated about it You bought a first year model from de MoCo and you get this customer "care".

Probably Healthtech will be fit perfectly, and cheaper too...

The bike has been in show rooms since June and sold out in three months. Our complaints about hill stop and the lack of a quick shifter (I have zero interest in one) and the small print have been taken care in six months! I understand the radiator hose/exhaust issue some suffered from was also changed. As a retired automotive electrical design engineer I am amazed by the speed of these changes. That is amazing customer "Care".

I have a 22 model and the Radiator hose/exhaust is still the same as the 21 model. That said and 1500 miles on it, I have not seen an issue with the hose starting to melt or any deformation of the hose to date.

Well, not too bad, but not too good, I think.
First, when you are in the desing process of a complex and new bike you need to put a real experienced motorcyclists in addition to real customers type working in the team...working and with choose options/way capacity . Younger and inexperienced bikers marketing workers usually are not the best possible combination if you really want to make first class product at first attempt.
Said that, I can't understand the stubborn HD staff saying quickshifter was not a option...and never would be. And now..only for '22 models via Screaming Eagle acc.
Six month to change small prints...wow!!. Really hard work...
An app that not work (I only was able to see maps once since september...ja!!), and not update to this software junk...they really are very busy doing...what??
A continuos erratic and differents errors in the display that I can delete fortunately to allow driving with full power...
An update soft for the bike that block it...
And all these without speaking about poor ergonomics made for teenagers or very fit twentysomethings ...and yes, I knew this when I bought my PA.
Im sorry, but HD work is not brilliant or the team was not really well oriented.
I'm a HD lover...but enough is enough. I believed in harley customer care but the QS only for Y22, the recall my dealer can NOT apply me because the replacement part is only available for new bikes and not for my four months old PA, the bad software update, etc... my PA will be trade or offered for sale in few days.
Fortunately there are plenty of makers doing well, and excellent bikes in the market to choose now.

As I've said many times on here, I'm just your every day run of the mill schleprock so excuse me for my lack of understanding.
But if I didn't buy or turn around and sell everything that had some minor faults (or what I consider minor) I don't think I'd own ANYTHING.
Anyways, glad i don't sweat the small stuff and really wish this teen degree weather would go away so I can enjoy my non QS and hill assist , small font PA.
No I'm not trying to be negative or start anything.
Just my .02 ✌

I agree, sorry but yesterday I was very angry with HD. I can't understand how MoCo shows contempt for its customers who already purchased the Pan.
If I choose buy a Pan was for two reasons: my friendly and very good dealer and trust in HD updating the absolutely new bike and his customer care. I couldn't agree with the " only available for new unused bikes" seat base and all these after received a letter and a safety risk msj in the app about the problem (I suppose for liability or legal reasons) and second, the app is a genuine softtrash. I can't understand how is possible maintain this unusable app without work on it to update, and more with all marketing about it in their web page.
And yes...six month to change size numbers...again they are showing all the respect they put on their customer that already bought and paid their PA, like the only for Y 22 quickshifter inexplicably...wow!!
Logically I didn't expect a perfect bike and even less so as it was a new product, but I did expect at least a little attention and responsibility from the Moco, and that was what made me bet on the Pan and putting my money in the hands of HD. Now I know it was a mistake.

The wiring harness is different on the 2022 so the quick shift won't install. Not sure if there is a workaround :-(

There is an additional wiring harness that comes off the cann buss on the 22. Not easy to patch in There is also different software for the bcm and ecm because the quick shifter changes timing and fuel flow. I traded my 21 for a 22 because I wanted wire wheels, and need new tires. I had 14,000 happy miles on the 21 but will do 25-30 k miles this year on the 22 at least and wanted any minor improvements from a first year build. In more than 65 years riding I never had a quick shifter but added one. We called it power shifting in the old days. The most useful part of the speed shifter for me is the ability to downshift off road.

I just got an Arrow TI head pipe that has the bend 2 or 3 times farther from the hose. Before that, i put some high temp insulator material around the hose. Thi is about 1/8th inch thick and is used under some gas tanks.
