Has anyone else experienced a clutch slipping? It's only under heavy acceleration at 8000 RPM. It hits there and slips bad. Unfortunately it's usually a passing situation. It started at 700 miles, currently at 960 and going in for the 1K service.

Mine came from the factory with the clutch cable too tight. It was slipping under hard acceleration as you described. I loosened it at the lever and the problem went away.

Quick shifter wouldn't matter because the cable is putting too much tension on the clutch. Back it off at the lever a turn and I'll bet it stops slipping.
