In Germany we have the law that the seller have 2 Chances to repair. If it still not works you can get your money back.
Try it this way.
Obvious there is a Basic Problem in the Design and construction.

I had to build my own lock (install tumblers, etc...) with the Sport Top Rack.

A possible issue would be the mounting of the tumbler barrel in to the case. When your key is inserted, is it lining up perfectly with the lettering on the case? If not, you may want to loosen the screw on the inside and twist it a little for alignment, if it is off, the catches in pic 2 here could be hanging up the springs.

Another potential could be the tumblers are off by one count and it is catching when the button is pushed. Just a guess, but something to look at. You can pull the lock barrel out (carefully with your fingers covering the tumblers and springs as you pull it out) and run you finger around it with the key inserted, if you feel any one of the tumblers protruding or sunk in (we are talking a couple millimeters between tumblers) you may need the next size up or down. Mine was very finicky, it took me 3 tries overall to make it work smooth.

If you are not comfortable with messing with the tumblers, any dealer should be able to look at it under HD warranty as well as long as the lock was installed when you received it.

The side bags are alittle bit different but I did both with the online Harley page it just seems to stick for no reason gonna take it back apart and check everything again, and I have checked the tumblers every time I check it

I am having the same issue with the left bag. How do you get the tumbler back out to try it? I was not able to open the case until the tumbler was installed. I can take the bag off and on, but can not get into it.

no but you do haveto be ableto open the bag to get the lock cylinder out , trying pulling on the bag when you pull the lid latch open
Got it. I think the plastics were just stuck. I kept pushing the lock down and eventually it just popped up. Been working fine ever since. I think there was a little extra plastic on the latch. After it opened I smoothed it out. Thanks for the support all. I appreciate it.

Awesome write up but it gives me PTSD

I got so frustrated building my lock set on top case. Mine sticks as well. But I've just learned to deal with it.

Watch your heads by the way.... Very first thing I did was slip my finger off the first spring for the tumbler... Bet ya that still hasent come back in the atmosphere yet :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: thank God they gave extras

I have the sport bags and I have a question. The left bag doesn't seem to fit exactly right along the seam when closed. Does anyone else have this issue. Is it just a fit and finish issue? The right bag seems to close better.
