Hey everyone! Did a search and couldn't find much. I was setting up the lock cylinder for the sport bags and the first cylinder is stuck in the bag after not completely reading the instructions....yay me....any ideas on how to get the cylinder out and get the correct tumblers in? I did get it right on the second time, I just need the first cylinder out.

Thanks!

I made sure to ask the dealer if the cases came keyed to the bike and they assured me they did. The parts manager even claimed to have called HD to make sure and told me that's why they need the VIN# to order. They keyed the cases to the bike at no charge:)

The sport cases come with the cylinders and tumblers to key them to your bike. They don't get ordered by VIN. The aluminum cases get ordered by VIN to control purchases/ebay gouging since they're on such a backorder. They also are not keyed to the bike, so you'll have separate keys for bike and case. All was solved with a $10 trip to a locksmith.

I order my cases 2 weeks ago and they wanted the VIN# for the bike when I order them at my dealer. The cases came in 2 days ago with the cylinders and loose tumblers in a bag. I said fine, key them to the bike like you said they would, after a little back and forth they did. I know why they want the vin# and how the cases were shipped. I just caught the parts guy in a lie and got them keyed and an apology, beats paying $149.00 that they wanted to charge me. I would have taken them to a locksmith to, last time I changed over a fuel cap lock cylinder I swore never again.

inside you take the whole top latch off and theres a spot to depress the tumbler that locks the cylinder in place , heres a photo ( piece 13 has to be removed toget to the cylinder )

you have to open the bag and take the whole latch mechanism apart from the bag then you will see a small slot on the bottom that you can insert a flatblade screwdriver to push in the lock pin to pullout the cylinder , part number 13 has to be removed to get the cylinder out
