Figure I'd throw this up here. So I replaced the stock plastic luggage rack for something sturdier and am able to grab so I can pick up bike easier.

The fit and finish was really good, install was pain in the butt (start with the bolts closest to the brake light first! Trust me).

Touratech do good stuff got the pegs ,gear leaver, and lockable sat nav holder and bar .

I also have this same top rack. The install is not hard, but, tedious. Just a bunch of steps that have to be in order. The benefits are of course awesome. Super sturdy, easy to install top box mounting plate. I also have the touratech pannier racks. Their fitment is spot on with the top rack.
As with anything, this is not cheap. Value? A-1.

Question, I have the HD aluminum cases, top/sides and already on bike. I too not a big fan of the plastic so my question...
Will the HD aluminum top box fit on this tourtech rack/rail?

The HD top case mounting plate does fit on the Touratech rack. That is my set-up.

Yeah order is a good way to put it! I was trying to put the front bolts up first and then couldn’t line up the rear. Once I got it right it all went smoothly! Super sturdy, I wish the bike came with this out of the factory!

you have to modify the touratech top rack. It has tabs that need ot be cut off for it to attach with the HD pannier mounts.

officially it doesn't, but I was able to modify it. Cut the bent tabs at the four top bolt locations. I also used some washers and longer bolts to attach it. I'd share photos, but my bike is currently at the dealership to get a new fuel pump.

Shot is an extreme crop and over exposed to show the HD panniers and mounts. I mounted a pelican case using a Mosko Moto mounting bracket onto the Touratech top rack. best I got for now....

I run mosko reckless 80 when fully kitted for travel, otherwise i'll do some combo of rokstraps or like the scout duffle
