Looking for anyone having a problem with the USB-C port charging with the ignition on but stops when the engine is started??
Go to your dealer, via software update they will fix thisproblemLooking for anyone having a problem with the USB-C port charging with the ignition on but stops when the engine is started??
Look up service bulletin: M1532 BCM re-flash100000% sure there is a BCM update for fixing USBC and accu drainage. I can give you mulitple links, in fact my PanAM will be updated this week. The BCM update is present since the end of May. If you work for a HD dealer it is worrying that (I also did experience this in the Netherlands) HD dealers are not aware... To answer yoyr question: All first batch PanAms do not have a hot USBC when ignition is on. It was a stupid misstake from HD< it was designed for updating purposes only. Now it is also to be used for power supply when the engine is on
Thnx for the advise, however I am going to use the USB C port for charging. If it breaks HD will have to replace it for the upcoming four years or come with more sustainable solution.Just a friendly suggestion, don’t use that thing to charge your accessories. USB ports are notorious for wearing out.
The guy from the dealership said it was used for service diagnostics mostly.
My guess is the wear and tear on that port is going to make it fail sooner than you’d like.
Personally, I’m going to run a wire up from my battery with a dedicated USB charger on it. Have them on my other bikes. Easy to do.
So finally took it in for that USB-C update and they had a problem it wiped the BCM and they couldn't get it done. Hoping that tomorrow that HD can get it sorted out.@PanAmrider SW patch fixed the problem?
My bike is doing the same thing. The dealer said the update was done already . Is there a way to check and see what flash has been done to the bike via Bike info or Diagnostics on the infotainment screen? Also very rarely does the bike start on the first cycle , is this normal? Oh and when having my phone and Sena 50S connected, i tend to drop out of my group conversation continually. Growing pains![]()
Alternative would be to use a coax? to usb adapter and plug that into one of the two heated clothing, power supplies provided & located under the seat. These need to be male, the ones on the bike are female. I will now be getting a male to male to finalise the connection and then connecting in one of these which cost around a tenner. There's also a fused switched live available to be found under the fuel tank somewhere, so I'm lead to believe. I hope to use that for my Innovv C5 camera...
