I was having trouble with my quickshifter. It was installed by a HD dealer. I took the bike to a specialist in performance bikes and he fixed the quickshifter for me. He told me that this is a common problem with all kinds of quickshifters from all brands. The problem was that the lever weren't in parallel. They MUST be for the system to work perfectly. They don't need to be VERTICALLY. They must be PARALLEL to each other. See the images I posted bellow. In my case mine were in the RED position. After adjusting it my quickshifter now works just fine - UP and DOWN! View attachment 1833 View attachment 1834
How do you go about adjusting these angles? I don't see the typical lock nut and thread adjuster seen on shift linkages.

Do you know how he adjusted it to make it level? Mine won't work for down shifting and when looking at it, it is not parallel like you have here.

I had my Screaming Eagle quickshifter installed yesterday when I had my 1000 mile service done.
Having enjoyed the quickshifter on my Ducati Supersport 950S, the Harley piece meets expectations. The Pan America transmission never had the snick snick transmission that Ducati fits to their bikes, but the quickshifter mechanism and software perform just as well.

I'm not in the "I only use the clutch for taking off" crowd. There are times when I simply prefer the control of the clutch. That said, when I am attacking technical roads, up/down quickshifting makes for one less thing to think about in transitions. A quickshifter is a total delight when you're doing hard accelerations. In both scenarios, the bike will feel faster with a quickshifter, because it is faster with less interruption to power delivery.

Case in point, on my ride home with my freshly installed quickshifter, I got pulled over by a police officer. That's as good as a review as any, I guess. LOL

That could explain why some work well, and some don’t. I went out and checked mine and the lever arms are parallel. Thanks for the feedback.
What were the issues you were having? Mine wont shift down often. Even if I use the normal clutch I can't downshift at those moment. When I then accelerate again, afterwards I can downshift

Anyone know why there are separate part numbers for the SE Quickshifter (32700151) and the California Model SE Quickshifter (32700168A)? I have no idea what could possibly be different with the part itself, or the electronic switch. I could see some type of different software program involved, but the part itself, does not make any sense. With Christmas coming up, I could use a good stocking stuffer.

Good question. I bought my PA in San Francisco and road it to Texas. i Hit 10k soon after getting here (Texas) and thought I’d get the quick shifter installed during the 10k service. they told me they can install it but theyll have to order a special cal model for it to work.

Id like to save some money and order it myself but I have no idea how to order the cal quick shifter?

oh well
