I know they made a difference on my high compression M-8, reducing the pinging. But the PAS has compression compensation (or whatever it is called) that changes the timing and stuff.

I'd be interested to hear the performance benefits for this pricey plug.
Strong words for the guy who couldn't even find the plugs on the H-D website. . . . 🤪 They are priced in "pairs" if that helps, but you need two pairs so you're in $80 at least + tax . . .

Won't get a performance review from me, since I'm adding all three items at the same time, so any isolated performance benefits will be linked to the effects from the exhaust and air filter.

Strong words? I just said i couldnt find them and asked if it really made a difference. You're the one that commented that they were pricey. I still can't find them using the bike selector tool on the HD site, maybe because i sorted by '22 and not '21 or '23 PA. Either way, i've always run NGK Iridium's and when it comes up for me, i'll see if they make one that fits a PA.

All good, just fu$kin with you. . . not against the NGKs or other after-market items (exhaust for instance), but base a decent part of my purchasing decisions on the level of engineering that goes into the specific manufacturer's after-market parts. Not to start a "which oil is better tangent", as I'm certain Vance and Hines, Akrapovic, etc. all are well-engineered, but a lot of automotive technology has long-surpassed the "bar napkin" geometry and engineering phase.

I agree to an extent. The Rev max is fairly new so its hard to tell what aftermarket stuff runs the best. On my sportster its always been K&N filters, AMSoil for engine oil, HD formula one for primary, james gaskets, NGK plugs, etc. But the Evo has been around forever and theres plenty of data and others running those that I feel confident that they will be good for my motor. With the PA, we'll have to stick to OEM/SE for now.

But the flip side of that argument is, who is making these for HD? I used to think NGK made all the HD plugs, but thats almost like the oil argument..

Also, i came across these today:

After the install of the new exhaust, the less desirable task of the rest of the service was required. . . As mentioned, the YouTube "Mike' s Motorbike Channel" was used as a service guide.

Nothing too dramatic, after you take off the fuel tank once, almost assured you can cut the time in half next time its required.

The inner plugs obviously more of a challenge than the outers. . . a bit of linkage manipulation (especially the front) required for successful withdrawal.

Front of the frame makes the angle awkward. . .

Screaming Eagle Exhaust, Plugs and K&N. . .

Also installed a new battery, been pretty frustrated with the OEM and low cranking output, so upgraded to Lithium-Ion, excited about not having to plug it in nearly every day. . .

Got it all buttoned up, then kinda-sorta remembered I still need to change the oil and oil filter. . .

Knew I left that skid plate off for a reason . . .

How many pistols do you have stashed in random tool boxes?

Serious question from a PanAm newb: Why did you upgrade the axles? Is there a known weak point there I haven't heard of yet?
MERICA!!
LOL.
there is a post about firearmes in the "off topic' area. Its a pretty fun post
;)

I would not have thought it would be a divisive topic in a motorcycle forum! LOL!!
So would I be wrong to axe..... what style/brand/caliber to carry while changing oil oh and what oil and chain lube to use.... guess I'll ask, should i buy a Harley?:LOL:

** only a test, please remain calm this is only a test, should this not be a test your GOVT will advise what you need to do next so continue on reading this forum...

So it’s been 3 days commuting 282 miles total this week so far. The seat is growing on me. Seemed slippery at 1st but not so much now. It doesn’t spread my butt like the OEM seat did. No complaints. In fact I’m starting to not notice it which says a lot.

this weekend I’m going motorcycle camping here

will try to ride the ATV trails up in there. Afterwards I’ll have some idea how the seat feels off-road and after hundreds of miles per day.
Well that's awesome. I have been right past that area many times over the years on various bikes. Borrowed my dad's electraglide to take the wife to cherry springs for a meteor shower once too, and took dirt back roads from PA Grand Canyon into that general direction on my gsx1100. Is it a public campsite?

I finally got around to fixing the heat sheild on my '21. When I bought the bike it was held on with hose clamps, I have an extended warranty and asked the dealer about fixing it but of course ... "That's not covered."

Borrowing from another guy here, except I did not have the original screw and broken off bracket piece. So I picked up a T-nut from the hardware store, drilled a hole in a hose clamp and then bent some lips in the T-nut to keep it from spinning. It works well enough and looks fine, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to retain a stock look.

I used a screw from the hardware store while I waited for one to arrive from the dealer - I try to keep stock hardware so the same tool removes both. I also added blue Loctite once I reinstalled the oem screws.
