Riding 2 up on the road, hit 4/5 shift and got after it, clutch immediately started slipping. Anyone have the adjustment procedures?
Could u please post a link to that online service manual?I just sent the simple procedure which is out of the H-D service manual. It is available on line for a monthly or annual fee. Pretty worthwhile IMO!
Just go to the H-D app and you should find your bike listed. Select the bike and you should see manuals. The operators manual is free, the interactive service manual has a fee. Attached is a procedure posted on one of the PAS websitesCould u please post a link to that online service manual?
Have you looked at the fine adjustment on the handlebar, it need to release the clutch completely and should be set to 1 mm out. I have the local hd shop adjust mine and the bike slipped the clutch and after four times of them adjusting it, and now a complete replacement of the clutch. I believe that they are over tighting it and it not allowing to clutch to completely release causing a lot of wear and trash into the oil. The cable sure seamed to have a bunch of movement on mine, and is being replaced this week, as I was out of adjustment with it and it would appear that the shop or owner manual doesn't have enough information on it to get this done correctly even at the dealership. I guess it is 1st year ownership problems with a new model. I would like to thank Harley Davidson for stepping up and taking care of it, but wish they would provide a bit more information on adjusting it correctly.Riding 2 up on the road, hit 4/5 shift and got after it, clutch immediately started slipping. My 23 pan am started slipping in high gears at high rpm. But after my heavy butt riding hard it's slip at 5000 rpm in most gears. I'm going with the Rukos clutch plates so clutch is easier to pull the Barnett with heavy springs.Riding 2 up on the road, hit 4/5 shift and got after it, clutch immediately started slipping. I had a new factory clutch put in under warranty. It's already slipping at high gear and rpm. It floats. JunkDoes anyone else beside @Smitty uses aftermarket clutch plates for PA 1250S? Please share your experience if you do. I had my slipping for the 3rd time in 2 years of usage. Current mileage: 19k miles
Ruckus make a carbon fiber. Supposed to be easy pullI've had a really weird experience on mine. First clutch was replaced under warranty (looks like the clutch basket was mounted wrong from the factory). Second one lasted about 14000km (about 9000 mi). Then I've burned two clutches in 10000km (6000mi). First one was a Barnett which came with the wrong springs (too short and too soft) in the set. Second one -went back to original HD part - just strated slipping after less than 2000km (a little over 1000 miles). And I ride like an old man. I sold my street glide with the factory clutch at 70000km (about 50000mi). I never go wide throttle. I'm starting to get worried. I'm a little over 30000km (19000mi) and I'm installing my 5th. I will try again aftermarket I think. Barnett, even with the wrong springs felt really good. It's a little more taxing in stop and go traffic, but overall it felt better than stock
I only know about Barnett and Rekluse clutches. And Google is very unhelpful this morning. Got a link or part number? 'cause I need a clutch by Monday, and one more option ain't bad!Ruckus make a carbon fiber. Supposed to be easy pull
I believe he meant Rekluse 🤔 I have not seen many options for clutches on the PASI only know about Barnett and Rekluse clutches. And Google is very unhelpful this morning. Got a link or part number? 'cause I need a clutch by Monday, and one more option ain't bad!
I was asking because I don't know why, but Rukus sounded familiar, and Google was suggesting that there is such a company and they, at least, build centrifugal clutches for Japanese Honda scooters. Weird coincidences, are weirdI believe he meant Rekluse 🤔 I have not seen many options for clutches on the PAS
I understand that 🤣 sometimes there is confusion in trying to find quality parts that last and sometimes the cheapest made parts end up working best 🤷🏻♂️ I know several people who have the Rekluse setup and swear they don't think they could wear one out racing lol , I looked for ruckus clutch for the Pan America and only found links to other bikes and such 🤷🏻♂️ maybe someone will provide a link if one exists 😉 but I will be buying the Rekluse for any of my bikes in need of a clutch, Barnett has failed me on my 2002 softail springer with over 100hp and my 2009 Tri-Glide with over 120hp , I'm by no means bashing Barnett but I'm not buying anymore of them lol , good luck and let us know how it goes my friend 🤪I was asking because I don't know why, but Rukus sounded familiar, and Google was suggesting that there is such a company and they, at least, build centrifugal clutches for Japanese Honda scooters. Anyway, Rekluse kit ordered, will be mounted next week. Many thanks! I'll report back as soon as I get beyond 1000 km (600 mi) on the new kit and I have something to report.
Many thanks kind sir! Will do! Will do! And I'll also be able to compare the three kits (factory, Barnett and Rekluse) by thenI understand that 🤣 sometimes there is confusion in trying to find quality parts that last and sometimes the cheapest made parts end up working best 🤷🏻♂️ I know several people who have the Rekluse setup and swear they don't think they could wear one out racing lol , I looked for ruckus clutch for the Pan America and only found links to other bikes and such 🤷🏻♂️ maybe someone will provide a link if one exists 😉 but I will be buying the Rekluse for any of my bikes in need of a clutch, Barnett has failed me on my 2002 softail springer with over 100hp and my 2009 Tri-Glide with over 120hp , I'm by no means bashing Barnett but I'm not buying anymore of them lol , good luck and let us know how it goes my friend 🤪
