I hear you. LOL . I just plan on doing a fair amount of off road riding and like the idea of having a little flex in the wheel. Have you done a lot of off road on your Pan America?
If you are going off-road with any regularity you want the laced wheels. Remember one errant rock on a single trail can crack those cast wheels.
Plus they look great.

I agree. I called the dealership this morning and told them the cast wheels were a deal breaker.
They called me back this afternoon and said they were putting laced wheels on mine from another bike. Not sure where they pulled that one from. Going Saturday to seal the deal if everything is right.

I know some buyers are getting their bikes with laced wheels but they are either getting swapped from another unit or the accessory wheels.
I have a good source at HD that is telling me no laced wheels on orders accepted for January build. They don’t even have spoked wheels for the Heritage bikes.

Guess mine must have been been a Dec build as I received it on 1/7. I know for a fact the dealership didn't swap as they didn't have any bikes besides their demo which has the cast wheels. And are you saying they have the accessory wheels and are selling to the public but they can't get them to install at the factory? That doesn't make much sense.

They can’t recall wheels back from accessory supply and dealers inventory and then put them on bikes on the assembly line. I was told that no laced wheels were available on any HD models in the January build book.

Well I lucked out. The dealership got three Pan America’s in. My Black one and two Fastback blue bikes) One of the Fastback blue bikes came in with the laced wheels. The guy who ordered it didn’t care about the laced wheels and they were able to put them on my bike.
Delivering my bike Wednesday. I can’t wait for this snow to go away now.
