What have you done to your Pan America today ? ? ?

I installed a full set of HD Panniers. Hint #1: Get your recall done first. Hint #2: Start with the top case. Hint #3: The side boxes come with 6 locks, 2 for the top box. The top box comes with only 2 that are not used if you have the side cases. If you use the top case ones the key may be different.

Perhaps someone could enlighten me as to why the top box is designed to slide slightly side to side? And why they always have to be locked?

Install a manifold cover by touratech

Made out of stainless Steel comes with two stainless pipe Clips.
Solid peace of lasercut stainless sheetmetal.
Using a screwdriver and a torx 30 . It
Takes about 15 min. To assemble

Prevent direct contact to the hot exhaust pipe. Your Rubber Sole will say thank you.

So why do you say do recall first? I just got my sides and top boxes and thought bout installing them.
Way I figure I install and when my recall comes up it's not on me to take off, right? But will follow your "hints".

Oh I think I remember reading or hearing they designed the top box to move for an overall better handling or something along that but that's just from old man's memory.😁

In my case, I spent three beers and a Friday afternoon doing my side racks, figuring I'd better save the top box until after the recall is done. Saturday I put a permit on the bike and went to the dealer. Because the side racks were on, it took longer than the 20 minutes I was quoted as they had to take the racks off. True, no charge and it was their problem, but I got the bike home and had to take the racks off again to install the top box, as it requires removal of the whole handhold base.

You are correct in that it's not up to you to worry about the racks, but I kinda felt I wasted time trying to save time. YMMV.

Got a snazzy new helmet that matches the orange tank color pretty well. . . Scorpion AT 950 Ellwood, for any who might be interested - - modular with removeable visor and drop-down internal sun shade. . . Also first picture with the recently mounted Camel ADV skid plate and Sport top case.

Hello Colly,
on the left side on those buttons you can navigate to delete the Errors.
Once i had Errors and could not delete them. So I went for a coffee and tryed it 15 min. later. Surprise, then it worked.
The other thing what I found out,
Turn the PAS on and do not imidiatly Push the start Button. Take your time and start then.
To me it seems that the PAS don't like fast start after turn on.
Try it...

The back pieces are curved and 1 of them has an R stamped on it (important). Assemble all of the pieces using only a couple of threads on the bolts, THEN install it and tighten everything down. WAY easier than the circus balancing act they show....
The Alibaba rad shield is decent enough, and for $35 vs $195 at the dealer, it's even better....
Billet foot pegs made by my local dealer too....
And just got the notice from Canada Post that my TOCE exhaust is here 🏍🏍🏍

I did the exact same thing with the headlight guard. I may have missed it, but where did the kickstand extension come from?

So that the weight on the top case does no upset the bike whilst riding off road, lots of companies do this now even the side cases move about.

still waiting on the recall parts for mine from harley, plus a new recall because the touchscreen goes dead if its below freezing ( colorado rockies) did go start it to cant do much else with torn wrist ligaments and ankle ligaments lol

A 500 mile oil change. I know HD say a 1000 but I prepare to change oil sooner in a new engine. Only issue was the oil filter was installed by an ape with a long bar. Had to destroy the filter with a racheting oil filter grip.

Apart from the filter easy enough and the test ride was welcomed as always. So far no drips.
