My first bike was a Suzuki 50 , then a bultaco 360 😳, scary fat dirt bike, couple of Honda 750s two Kawasaki 650, Yamaha virago 1100 I think that’s what it was lol, Buddy finally talked me into a Harley way later down in life, bought a2006 sportster 1200 custom, sold that bought a2008 denim blue street bob (still have), then a 2013 flhtp,30 days later lady pulled in front of me and got totaled, healed up and bought a2017flhxs, (still have) and now the 2021 panam special gauntlet grey, wife wants me to sell the street glide, both wrists have torn ligaments, so the bike is getting alittle heavy.

Well I've had fifty nine bikes and the Pan America makes sixty. I can tell you categorically that the Pan America is the best in it's class. The bike has a natural and comfortable riding position which for me is a big factor. The powerplant is amazing and the electronics are extremely well thought out. This is a no frills no gimmick bike...everything works very well. I knew I wanted the bike the first time I rode the demo. The bike felt as nimble as my 2014 Kawasaki KLR650 with the power response of my KTM and the durability of my BMW GS 1200GS. There is a lot more to come from HD with the ADV bike line, stay tuned.
You and I have had different experiences with bmw durability.

As more people join the forum I'm curious to hear what everyone's motorcycle history is like. For me I don't have a long ownership history, currently I have a 2016 Suzuki V-Strom 650 and before that I had a 2010 Harley Davidson Sportster.
For me, way to many to remember……. For years in my 20/30’s I bought, repaired & resold used bikes to supplement my income. Some I liked more than others, so I kept them longer.
The RD series of Yamaha were always a favorite!

Right now, there’s a 1999 BMW, Model K1200RS under the carport. I put over 80K on her in the first 5 years I’ve owned it. Next to the K12 is a 2007 Suzuki GSF1250s, bought new, there’s 36K on the clock. In the garage is my 2021 Pan America, a 2002 Ural Tourist Side Car rig, and a 1974 BMW R75/6 being refurbished. Lastly, a 2000 GasGas TXT 321 Pro and 1964 Honda Benly 125cc twin are in the shed.

In the last year or so, my R1200RT BMW, bought new in 2014, was traded in on a 2020 Road Glide Special, which was traded for the Pan Am after just 9 months of ownership.

Huuuum, I wonder what’s next?

I still have it even i dropped it in the woods.
It was a sportster now it is a Scrambler

Always looked at Harleys but didn't find the one that I really liked until the Pan America was released :)
Bought a 2021 1250S ARH October 2021 did 50 miles and realized Id been sold a non ARH model (somehow got mixed up at the dealers:(..it went back)
March 2022 finally got the correct version and at the moment very happy with it.
I had a dabble with many other bikes but only long term ones mentioned.
